What is the difference between serialised, bulk and kit stock?
A serialised asset is one physical unit with its own identity — an excavator, a camera body, a vehicle — tracked by serial number with its own history. Bulk stock is a quantity of identical items, such as 400 chairs, tracked by count. A kit is a package that goes out as one line but reserves and returns each component separately. Rentablez supports all three in the same catalogue.
How does availability work across branches?
Availability search returns what is free for a date range, counting confirmed orders, open quotes and anything blocked by a maintenance job. With multi-branch enabled, each branch holds its own stock and you can search one branch or all of them together.
Can I track batteries, attachments and accessories separately?
Yes. Accessories such as batteries, helmets, buckets and lenses can be their own stock records and issued as part of a kit, so you know which accessory went out with which unit and what has not come back.
Does Rentablez support barcode or QR scanning?
Yes. Labels are generated and printed in bulk, and the iOS and Android apps scan them to look up an asset, pick against a job, or check items back in. Barcode and QR scanning is included from the Growth plan.
Can I import my existing catalogue?
Yes. Assets, customers and stock can be bulk-uploaded from an Excel template with a dry-run validation step that reports errors before anything is written. Our team helps with the first import during onboarding.
What happens to stock while an asset is being serviced?
An open maintenance job blocks the unit from being allocated, so it cannot be double-booked while it is in the workshop. It returns to availability when the job card is closed.
Can I attach photos and documents to an asset?
Yes. Images, purchase invoices, manuals, insurance papers and warranty dates are stored against the unit. Free storage covers 1 GB for asset images and 1 GB for documents, expandable in 5, 15 and 50 GB tiers.
Is inventory included in every plan?
Yes. Asset management, stock tracking and availability search are core modules included from the Starter plan up. Advanced pricing with variant-level stock, and barcode/QR scanning, unlock on higher plans.
